Dua to read before travelling

Everyone of us needs to travel to many places in our lifetime. So when we travel we should read these supplications so that Allah shields us from all sorts of harm.

Dua 1

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ.

Subhana-alladhi sakh-khara la-na hadha wa ma kunna la-hu muqrinin. Wa inna ila Rabbi-na la munqalibun.

Glory to Him who provided this mode of transportation for us, despite our inability to do it on our own. And it is to our Lord that we will return.

Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:13-14

Dua 2

رَّبِّ اَدْخِلْنِيْ مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَّاَخْرِجْنِيْ مُخْــرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَّاجْعَلْ لِّيْ مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ سُلْطٰنًا نَّصِيْرًا

Rabbi Adkhilnee Mudkhala S’idqiw Wa Akhrijnee Mukhraja S’diqiw Waj-a’l Lee Mil Ladunkaa Sult’aanan Nas’eeraa

Oh, my God! Let my entrance (to the city of Al-Madinah) and leaving (from the city of Makkah) be pleasant. And give me authority from You to assist me (or a firm sign or a proof).

Surah Al-Israa 17:80
