5 Unique Ways Muslim ladies can Increase Their Rewards

Allah designed a woman to play a variety of roles. Her spouse finds comfort in her, her children find serenity in her, and her parents find solace in the coolness of her eyes.

However, in carrying out her commitments to her family and other responsibilities, we Muslimahs sometimes feel left out of the various opportunities to gain additional rewards that others have. We may not always be able to visit the mosque as frequently as we would want or endeavour to spread Allah’s deen (religion). Our monthly menstrual cycles also rob us of five to seven days of worship, leaving us feeling left out of accumulating as much as possible until the Day when we all stand before Allah, calculating and tabulating our acts.

But there is a way when there is a will. Here are five unique methods that any Muslimah can earn additional money while staying at home!

Read 10 Easy Sunnah Muslims Should Follow Daily

  1. Encourage your spouse, father, and boys to go to the mosque to worship.
Even if you are unable to travel to the mosque, make a point of calling out and reminding your husband or father when it is time for prayers. Even if your family’s men are highly punctual about going to the mosque for every prayer, make sure you remind them when it’s time so you can benefit from worshipping in congregation!
  1. Offer your food to others.
Almost every woman is responsible for cooking or planning the day’s food. What could be better than turning this task into a means of increasing your rewards? Take a small amount of food out of the pot every day after the dinner is done. Send it to a neighbour, give it to a poor person on your way out to pick up the kids from school, or give it to your household help as they leave for the day. Do not be fooled by Satan into thinking that one modest meal may ease the hunger that surrounds us, nor should you be fooled into preparing a large food giveaway event one day to divert your attention away from this sadaqah (voluntary charity) in Allah’s way.
  2. Consider Allah.
“Allah the Exalted says: I am as my slave expects me to be, and I am with him when he remembers Me,” said Allah’s Messenger (saw). I will remember him inwardly if he remembers Me inwardly, and if he remembers Me in an assembly, I will remember him in a better assembly (that is, the assembly of angels) if he remembers Me in an assembly. (Muslim and Bukhari)

Just consider Him! Keep Allah in your thoughts when you work, clean, cook, drive, or go to sleep!

  1. Maintain familial ties in your spare moments.
Don’t let your hectic schedule prevent you from calling and speaking with your parents for five minutes. Send a quick message to your sister. Your uncle will receive an email from you. All of this can be accomplished in a matter of seconds thanks to the convenience of smart phones. Take advantage of these moments to receive incredible prizes that you will remember when you stand before Allah!

“…and dread Allah, through Whom you demand mutual (rights), and (do not) cut the wombs (kinship) relations…” (4:1) (al-Nisa’)

5. Before doing anything, say Bismillah.
The barakah (blessings) of Bismillah (in Allah’s name) must not be overlooked! By chanting Bismillah as you go about your daily duties, you can convert each one into an Ibadah (act of worship). Bismillah not only blesses the task, but it also realigns our niyah (intention) by reminding us that we begin with Allah’s name and for him. Begin with His name and make the rest of your day an Ibadah!
