In response to Israel’s apartheid and human rights violations against Palestinians, Verviers, Belgium, cut ties with Israel.
Barcelona, Liege, Oslo, and Belem—major European cities—have made similar decisions.
Verviers is the latest European city to cut connections with the Israeli apartheid system, according to the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

The Palestinian National Committee (BNC), the largest Palestinian civil society coalition that leads the global Boycott Israel (BDS) campaign, applauded Verviers’s decision and Belgian civil society’s arduous work.
It asked other cities to join these cities in freezing contact with the Israeli apartheid administration in support of the Palestinian struggle.
