Iranian wins $800,000 in Saudi Arabian Quran recital competition

Iran and Saudi Arabia won the Friday Quran and call to prayer recital competition in the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia.
Younes Shahmoradi from Iran won the Quran recitation competition and received $800,000 (SR3 million), followed by Abdulaziz Al Faqih from Saudi Arabia, who received $500,000 (SR1.87 million).

In the call to prayer category, Saudi Arabian Mohammad Al Sharif earned $500,000, while Indonesian Diaa Al Din bin Nizar Al Din placed second and won one million riyals.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Entertainment created “Aatr Al Kalam,” or “Perfume of Words,” in 2019 to honour outstanding Quranic recitation and call-to-prayer singers.
During the finale, the Guinness Book of Records awarded the programme six certificates for being the largest Quranic competition in terms of participating countries, call to prayer competitions, and prizes.
Turki Al Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Entertainment Chairman, awarded the winners. Prizes totaled $3 million.
