The General Directorate of Passports said on Saturday that as of Friday, 1,626,500 pilgrims had come to the Kingdom through all of its air, land, and sea ports to take part in this year’s Hajj.

The authority said that 1,559,053 travellers from outside the Kingdom came into the country through airports. Of these, 240,137 were helped by the Makkah Route Initiative.

It also said that 60,617 people came through land ports and 6,830 came through seaports.
The Passports Directorate said that it would do everything it could to make it easier for travellers to get into the country.

This meant that its platforms at foreign air, land, and sea ports had to be set up with the latest technology and be run by people who knew how to use different languages.
