A Florida charter school fired a teacher for allegedly interfering with Muslim students’ prayers.
At Franklin Academy Charter School in Pembroke Pines, a video of two Muslim pupils praying together went viral with over 7.5 million views on TikTok. A woman enters the space through the open door, claiming ownership of the office and declaring, “You all are doing magic.”
They are at my workplace, why? Who invited them into here?” The instructor is heard stating. They’re praying, a different person responded.
“I’m disrupting the floor because I think in Jesus,” she stated.
They are praying when she blows a whistle and tries to pass past them, almost stepping on one of their hands.
“I literally don’t even believe what happened to me is genuine,” the individual who uploaded the video to TikTok, stated. I remain shaken.
The guy also mentioned asking two teachers to pray in the comments area of the video. They let us inside the room we were in, and everything was going smoothly until she entered.
It is still unclear whether the students were allowed to pray or if they need permission. It’s also not clear why the pupils were filming a video or if this was the teacher’s private office when he entered.
The school’s response was that its leadership team had been shown a “troubling” film.
“At Franklin, we do not accept any type of discriminatory behaviour. Although we are not allowed to speak about personnel problems, we can reveal that the questioned teacher is no longer employed by Franklin Academy.
