In Islam, making one’s parents happy and showing them respect and kindness is highly emphasized. Here are some ways to make your parents happy according to Islamic teachings, along with relevant Hadiths:

  1. Obey and respect your parents: Obeying and respecting your parents is of utmost importance in Islam. Treat them with kindness, love, and patience. Allah says in the Quran:”And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], ‘uff,’ and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.” (Quran 17:23)
  2. Seek their advice and guidance: Involve your parents in your decision-making process and seek their advice. Show them that you value their wisdom and experience. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:”He is not one of us who does not have mercy on young children and does not honor the elderly.” (Sunan At-Tirmidhi)
  3. Serve them with kindness: Serve your parents with love and compassion. Attend to their needs, help them with household chores, and assist them whenever possible. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:”Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents. If one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of annoyance and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.” (Quran 17:23)
  4. Pray for them: Regularly include your parents in your prayers and supplications. Ask Allah to bless them with good health, happiness, and a place in Paradise. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:”When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him.” (Sahih Muslim)
  5. Show gratitude: Express your gratitude to your parents for everything they have done for you. Thank them sincerely and acknowledge their efforts. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:”He who does not thank the people is not thankful to Allah.” (Sunan Abi Dawud)

Remember, every situation is unique, and the specific ways to make your parents happy may vary. However, these general guidelines from Islam provide a strong foundation for cultivating a loving and respectful relationship with your parents.
