In Islam, Friday is regarded as the most auspicious day of the week. Friday is the most important day of the week since it is the day when Muslims congregate for congregational prayer. Muslims attend to a lecture (Friday sermon) before conducting the Friday prayer in order to get important knowledge about Islam, Prophets, and Allah Almighty.

“The best day in the sight of Allah Almighty is Friday, the day of the congregation,” the Prophet (SAW) said in a hadith (Bukhari).

  1. Take a shower (ghusl)
It is always a good practise to maintain personal hygiene, especially on this day. According to Abu Sa’id Al-Khudr,

I witness that Allah’s Messenger (S.A.W) stated, “Every Muslim who has reached the age of puberty must take a bath on Friday, as well as cleaning his teeth with Siwak and applying perfume, if available.” [Bukhari]

Oral hygiene can also be achieved by brushing your teeth, using a liquor-free mouthwash, or using miswak.

  1. Trim your nails

‘Five are the demonstrations of fitra (nature/instinct),’ according to Abu Hurayrah (R.A.): 1) circumcision, 2) hair removal from behind the navel, 3) moustache trimming, 4) nail trimming, and 5) hair removal from under the arms

Make Dua on Friday
  1. Make as many duas as you can (between Asar and Maghrib)

Even if you aren’t going out for your normal Friday prayers, you can still make plenty of duas. It not only serves as a sunnah, but it also aids you in keeping your regular Friday schedule as much as feasible.

The golden hours on Friday, according to Ibn Al-Qayyim, are located after the Asr prayer and until the Maghrib Adhaan (end of the day):

“On Friday, there are twelve hours” (or part of it). If a Muslim requests Allah for something during that hour, Allah will give it to him, therefore look for it during the last hour after Asr.” [Abu Dawud & An-Nasai]

4. Go to the Masjid early:

There is a lot of rewards when you go to the Masjid Early.

Aws ibn Aws, narrated that Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Whoever performs Ghusl on Friday and causes (his wife) to do ghusl, then goes early to the mosque and attends from the beginning of the Khutbah and draws near to the Imam and listens to him attentively, Allah will give him the full reward of fasting all the days of a year and observing night-vigil on each of its nights for every step that he took towards the mosque.” [Ibn Khuzaymah, Ahmad].

5. Listen Carefully to the Khutbah

On Fridays, it is obligatory for Muslims to pay attention to the khateeb, and it is not acceptable for them to fidget, chat, or disregard the khutbah. The following hadith have been related to the benefits of paying close attention to the khutbah.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, according to Abu Hurayrah:

“Whoever performs ghusl, then comes to Jumu’ah and prays what is decided for him, then listens carefully until the khutbah is over, then prays with him (the imam), will be pardoned (his sins) between that Jumu’ah and the next Jumu’ah, and three days more.” [Sahih Muslim (857)]

6. Recite Surah Al-Kahf.

According to the Prophet (S.A.W.):

“Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Friday will be enlightened for the next two Fridays.” (Al-Haakim narrates, al-Albaani grades it as Saheeh)

7. Send abundant Durood and blessings to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

The Prophet (S.A.W) has stated to Aws ibn Aws:

“Friday is the best of your days. On that day, Adam (A.S.) was born; on that day, he died; on that day, the Trumpet will be blown, and all of creation will swoon. So send many blessings my way, because your benefits will be returned to you.” “How would our blessings on you be shown to you when you have gone to dust, O Messenger of Allah?” they asked. “Allah forbids the earth to consume the bodies of Prophets, may peace be upon them,” he stated. [Narrated by Abu Dawood in 1407; Ibn al-Qayim classifies it as Saheeh.]
