Importance Of Tawaf During Umrah
Tawaf is the act of a pilgrim round the Kaaba seven times counter-clockwise in order to beg forgiveness. Shawt is the act of circumambulating the Kaaba. Completing the entire process ensures both a place in paradise and the title of Hajji (a person who has performed Hajj). This rite serves to remind all pilgrims of their obligation and devotion to Allah (SWT). He is the centre of our universe, and our lives are in his hands. Following Ihram, Tawaf is the second of the Hajj’s mandatory ceremonies.
Tawaf is performed for a variety of reasons, according to mythology. Tawaf and its process are important for a variety of reasons, according to scholars. One of the reasons pilgrims conduct Tawaf in a circular pattern in one direction is to reflect their belief in the one and only Almighty Allah.
How to do your Tawaf?
Making Wudhu is the first thing you do in Tawaf (ablution). Wudhu can be performed on the grounds of Holy Kabbah or from wherever one is staying.
Ihram is the required dress for all pilgrims participating in Tawaf. It must be pure and sufficient to cover your satar (the parts of body that should be covered according to Islam). Two unstitched white cloths should be put around the torso of a man’s Ihram. Women’s Ihram consists of modest clothes that covers the satar and a hijab (veil). Women are not permitted to wear face coverings.
The traveller should then proceed to the Mataaf, which is the surrounding region of Kabbah and where pilgrims conduct Tawaf in Makkah.
Pilgrims are encouraged to perform Niyat (intention) in front of Hajre-Aswad, a black-colored stone sent from heaven to Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) while he was constructing the Kabbah. It is located at Kabbah’s eastern corner.
Following the Niyat, one should face Hajre-Aswad and say Takbir (Allahu-Akbar) before kissing the stone.
Then he or she should begin going around the Kabbah in an anti-clockwise way. In this method, a person should complete seven circles on foot. The pilgrim must finish the Tawaf in one sitting and should not depart until all seven circuits have been completed
After completing the seven rounds, pilgrims must stand in Al-Masjid Al-Haram and pray two rakats
Then they must drink water from the Zamzam while reciting the dua.
