According to the Prophet of Allah, a person should worship Allah three times throughout the day besides the obligatory prayers: in the morning, the evening, and the final hours of the night. There are both obligatory and optional things to do in the morning and the evening.

The obligatory actions are praying Fajr and ‘Asr, and these are the best two prayers from the fardh prayers. These two prayers are performed during ‘the two cool periods’ and whoever preserves these two prayers shall enter Paradise. (Bukhārī)

After Fajr and ‘Asr, the optional but highly recommended acts should be done. As a result, one should devote some time to each of the following after the fardh prayers:

1.Recite the Quran
2.Dhikr
3. Du’a

These daily adhkar serve as defence against all sorts of evil, including as enmity, magic, the evil eye, and demonic planning.

We are constantly in awe of Allah’s Greatness because of them. We look for His affection. We get nearer to Him. We are relaxed and happy. And it is through them that we find the power to complete our daily activities because Allah is sufficient for those who begin and end each day with the recollection of Him and who put their faith in al-Hayy al-Qayym.

Adhkār is the plural of dhikr and refers to remembrances. The morning and evening adhkār are a collection of du‘ās and remembrances which the Prophet ﷺ instructed us to pray at these two times.

Allah instructed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Qur’ān:

وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ

“And glorify and praise your Lord before sunrise and before sunset.” (50:39)

The best time for the morning adhkār is between Fajr and sunrise and the best time for the evening adhkār is between ‘Asr and sunset.
