Itikaf is a highly recommended act of worship in the last 10 nights of Ramadan, especially during the odd-numbered nights. It involves secluding oneself in a mosque or a designated area for a specific period of time, with the intention of dedicating oneself to worship and seeking the pleasure of Allah.

During Itikaf, the person is required to disconnect from the world and focus solely on worship, such as performing additional prayers, reciting the Quran, making dua, and engaging in other acts of worship.

It is recommended for men to perform Itikaf in a mosque, while women can perform it in a designated area at home. The duration of Itikaf can vary, but the most recommended time is the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Performing Itikaf during the last 10 nights of Ramadan is an excellent opportunity to increase one’s spirituality, seek the blessings of Allah, and attain a greater level of piety. It is important to make the intention of Itikaf with a pure heart and sincere intention, seeking the pleasure of Allah alone. Lailatul Qadr is believed to be in one of the 10 nights of Ramadan, so if someone secludes himself in itikaf and worships Allah during these last 10 nights then the person might catch Lailatul Qadr. May Allah accept our worship and grant us the opportunity to perform Itikaf in the last 10 nights of Ramadan.

Ibn ‘Umar (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to observe i’tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan.
