The greatest matters that earn a person forgiveness are:

1- Tawheed. Tawhid means believing in Allah Alone as God and Lord and attributing to Him alone all the

attributes of Lordship and divinity. Tawhid is divided into three categories; namely, Tawhid al-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Divine Lordship), Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of Divinity) and Tawheed al-Asma wa’l-Sifat (Oneness of the Divine Names and Attributes).

2- Seeking Allah’s forgiveness without persisting upon the sin.

3- Repenting to Allah with hope.

4- Doing the righteous deeds that wipe away sins, they are known as المكفرات, Such as Wudu, Prayer, walking to the Masjid, etc.
